Not used the Waste App in the last three days? If so, the Android version installed on your Samsung device will change the settings such that you no longer receive push notifications (“Battery saver mode”). To prompt the app to continue working as normal, you’ll need to deactivate “Battery optimisation” for the Waste App.
Deactivating app optimisation
To deactivate app optimisation on your smartphone, carry out the following steps:
- Open Settings
- Tap “Device Maintenance”
- Tap “Battery”
- Scroll down and tap “Unmonitored apps”
- Select “Add apps”
- Select the Waste App
- OK
Deactivating the App Power Monitor:
- Open Settings
- Tap “Device Maintenance”
- Tap “Battery”
- Tap the three dots at the top right
- Select “Advanced settings”
- Go to App Power Monitor
- Set switch to “off” for non-used apps
Important!
After deactivating app optimisation, please do the following:
- Restart device
- Start the Waste App
- Refresh the information about your local area and types of waste
Your reminders should now be working again, since power-saving measures have been deactivated for this app.
